What We Believe.

Vision Statement:
We seek to be growing community of maturing disciples sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with as many people as possible!

Mission Statement:
Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus who Love God, Love People, and Serve the World.

Core Doctrines:
We are an independent-nondenominational Christian Church. We seek to be a Christ-centered, Bible-teaching ministry in all that we are and in all that we do. Our roots are in the Restoration Movement, and we seek to “speak where the Bible speaks, and remain silent where the Bible is silent.”

The following statements are intended to help you understand the biblical ideas that most fundamentally define who we and what we believe:

THE BIBLE…is God’s Holy Word to all people, written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living.
(2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Timothy 1:13; Psalm 119:105, Psalm 119:160, Psalm 12:6; Proverbs 30:5)

CREATION... was purposeful as described in Genesis. God created the heavens and the earth in six days and rested on the seventh. (Genesis 1:1-2:25; Mark 10:6-9, Matthew 19:4-6)

GOD…is the Creator of all things and Almighty Ruler of the universe. He exists eternally in three persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. There is one God in three persons. (Genesis 1:1, Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 3:22; Psalm 90:2; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

JESUS CHRIST…is the Son of God, who was born to the virgin Mary, and lived a sinless human life and offered himself as the only acceptable sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to heaven and will return to earth again to judge all people from all nations. He will reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords forever. (Matthew 1:22-23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5; John 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14-15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 1:3-4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:13, 2 Corinthians 5:10, Revelation 20:12)

THE HOLY SPIRIT… is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make us aware of our need for Jesus Christ. He lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation and provides Christians with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. We seek to live under His control daily. (2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, John 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 1 Corinthians 3:16; Ephesians 1:13-14; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:18)

PEOPLE…are made in the image of God and the pinnacle of His creation. Although people have tremendous potential for good, they are damaged and broken by an attitude of disobedience toward God called sin. Sin separates people from God. (Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1-2)

LIFE…is created, sustained, and most-highly valued by God from life in the womb, through our life on earth, to our life in eternity. (Psalm 139:13-16; Acts 17:24-28)

MARRIAGE…was established by God. We believe the Scriptures define “marriage” as the exclusive covenantal union of one man and one woman in which such union is a lifetime commitment. (Genesis 2:24; Mark 10:6-9, Matthew 19:4-6; Ephesians 5:21-33)

SALVATION… is a free gift from God provided by the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Salvation is not something that can be purchased or earned and is available to everyone who accepts Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Those who trust Christ should repent of their sin, confess their faith publicly, and be baptized into Christ for the forgiveness of their sins. (Acts 2:38-39, Mark 16:16, Luke 13:3, Acts 17:30, Romans 10:9-10, Matthew 10:32, Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; Acts 22:16, John 14:6; John 1:12; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26-27; Romans 5:1, 1 Peter 3:21)

ETERNITY… is how long we were created to exist with God. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is hell. To be eternally in union with him is heaven. Heaven and hell are real places of eternal existence. (John 3:16; 1 John 2:25, 1 John 5:11-13; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15)

THE CHURCH…is the body and bride of Christ on Earth. It exists to communicate the good news of Jesus Christ to the world, to teach his followers to obey his teachings, and to equip his followers for ministry. The church is made up of those who have placed their faith in Christ.
(1 Corinthians 12:27; Ephesians 5:24-27; Matthew 28:19-20; John 10:10; Ephesians 4:11-14; Acts 2:38)

CHURCH LEADERSHIP... is the responsibility of a plurality of local elders. Men that meet the biblical qualifications that are laid out in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1 are to shepherd, protect, teach, equip, and oversee the local congregation. The Preacher is seen as the “preaching elder” or “evangelist” and serves alongside the other elders but is without voting power when decisions are made at RCC. Deacons are men who are servants and primarily take care of the physical needs of the local congregation while the elders devote their time to the spiritual needs. (1 Timothy 3:1-13, Titus 1:5-9, Acts 20:18-35)
