Roachdale Christian Church News
Volume 1 | Issue (I ran out of fingers and toes)

I hope all is well with you and your family! There is a lot happening right now and I thought a newsletter was a great way to share information. But first I want to give a big thanks to all of you who helped set up, sanitize, and do the dozen other things that happened last Sunday. It was a brand-new thing and it went GREAT because of the hard work that several of you put in, so I want you to know your church family is grateful.
Our first Sunday back had 66 in attendance over two services and there were many who joined us online. All in all, not bad for a first time to meet in a couple of months. But I want to head off some incorrect information that is passing around that older members are being told to stay home until further notice. This is absolutely not correct. What the elders have asked is that if you don’t feel safe, or you have symptoms of illness, or are not ready to venture out yet to please stay home. You can join us online (more on that in a second) live at 9:00 AM or at 10:30 AM or you can call the church office and request a DVD of the sermon. When you feel it’s safe, or when you feel better, and are not symptomatic, you can join the worship on the RCC campus.
We have made a change in the way we put the sermon video online. During both worship services we are streaming the sermon on Facebook Live. This is a free service to you, but you must have a Facebook account. Login and search for Roachdale Christian Church and click on “Follow”. This will allow you to view the sermon live. If you don’t have Facebook, that is no problem. On Sunday afternoon a link to the video will be posted on the church website, www.rccfamily.org. You don’t need Facebook to watch it through the church website, but you will have to wait a bit for the video to be uploaded on the website.
We are also changing up the way we distribute communion supplies to those of you still staying home. The Church Office is open daily from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM for you to stop by and pick up what you need. Inside the front door, next to the service window is a box of supplies. For your safety we are keeping our office doors closed so you won’t have to worry about exposure to the staff. You can also leave your tithe in the slot on the office front door. But still feel free to say hey!
Spreading the Light….
We are still sending cards to residents in The Lane House. We have two folks associated with RCC living there as residents. Carolyn Maish in Room 14A and Deanna Long in Room 27B. Please send your cards to: The Lane House, 1000 Lane Ave., Crawfordsville, IN, 47933
Please write “RCC” under the return address so the staff can keep up with where they are coming from. Feel free to send cards to our three folks but consider sending cards without a specific resident and the staff will give them out to those who may not have a lot of family contact.
News You Can Use
1. Debbie Sillery asked me to remind all folks over 60 years of age, or on disability, to stop by and pick up your 5 reduced cost meals at the Roachdale Senior Center. You can stop by on Friday, from Noon to 1 pm. If you have questions, please call the Roachdale Town Office.
2. You can help to keep us all informed and connected. If you have something you want to share text it to me at 615-739-1963 or email it to firstname.lastname@example.org. The main thing is to keep the lines of communication open and a frequent reminder that we are all in this together.
3. Please pray for:
The family of Patty Hicks
Sue Adams- in the hospital with fractured back and low sodium levels
Helen Galford– shingles
The family of Wilma Reed

So that’s all for today. Remember you can join us online live at 9:00 AM or at 10:30 AM on Sunday, you can watch the sermon on the church website, www.rccfamily.org later that afternoon, or you can call the church office and request a DVD of the sermon. When you feel it’s safe, or when you feel better, and are not symptomatic, you can join the worship on the RCC campus. This will be over one day; we are going to all be together soon!
All God’s Best!
